Anne-Louise Frei "SELF, FACES", 90x160cm Lambda print on Alu-Dibond
An analogue and digital photo work, in which the theme of one's own symmetry, the question of the meaning of the left and right side, male or female, questions one's own authenticity, veiled and hidden behind a texture. A veiling through various experiences, through socialisation, imprinting and other influences.
The image is a self portrait halved in the middle and reformed through double mirroring.

Juni 2022

lives and works in Berlin.
Since her first exhibition in 2005, as a photo and video artist, her theme has been the search for the representation of what describes and constitutes the space in between. The inner perception that influences the outer , from the viewers perspective point - what is in between, what fills the space?
